Career Success Workshop: From Ashes To Towers

From Ashes to Towers: The History of the Buildings that Created San Francisco’s Skyline

A city that sprang up suddenly during the Gold Rush had to be rebuilt almost overnight a half-century later, after it was leveled by the Great Earthquake and Fire of 1906. Learning much from this experience, the City’s commercial fathers formed BOMA San Francisco in 1911 to help rebuild San Francisco, regenerate commerce and create a unified voice to express the concerns of building owners.  BOMA Fellow and BOMA SF historian extraordinaire Tom Gille, will present attendees with a decade by decade overview how modern SF came to be.  This presentation was a highlight of BOMA's Centennial Celebration in 2011 and is a great way for commercial real estate's emerging professionals to gain a better understanding of SF's past, present and where it is heading in the future.

Career Success Workshops are lunchtime programs designed to enhance the learning and skill development of future industry and BOMA leaders. The workshops are open to all members but geared towards BOMA Emerging Professionals -- individuals in the early stages (0-7 years) of their commercial real estate careers that are looking for exposure to the skill sets necessary to excel and to the career paths available in this industry.
