The BOMA International Office Buildings
Standard Method of Measurement has been the preeminent standard for measuring
office buildings for over a century. This overview will give those new to
the industry an understanding of the importance of proper building measurement
and the value it provides to landlords, investors, developers and tenants to
accurately compare space.
Note:
This program is designed as an overview for the novice commercial real estate
practitioner. It is not intended to specifically address the changes
between the 2010 and 2017 standard.
Peter
Stevenson, Founder and President of Stevenson Systems, will
provide a primer course for our young professionals group. Peter is one
of the industry’s pioneers and leading authorities in the science of building
measurement and has been directly involved in the development of numerous
measurement standards including the BOMA standards.
The program is free of
charge. Reservations are required and space is limited. Lunch
is provided courtesy of Paramount Group, Inc. & Kilroy Realty.
Meeting space provided courtesy of Cushman & Wakefield.
Career Success Workshops are lunchtime programs designed to enhance the
learning and skill development of future industry and BOMA leaders. The
workshops are open to all members but geared towards BOMA Young Professionals
-- individuals in the early stages (0-7 years) of their commercial real
estate careers that are looking for exposure to the skill sets necessary to
excel and to the career paths available in this industry.
