Charley Berthoud, Chief Engineer | GSH Group
Charley Berthoud is a facilities operations and management professional, currently working as a union Chief Engineer for a 1.1M square foot Class-A Life Science portfolio in South San Francisco. An expert in critical building systems and 24/7 operations, he oversees the engineering, maintenance, and construction activities of lab & life science space, mostly centered on tenants with biochemical operations. This includes an onsite vivarium and active production and research labs.
Charley holds current certifications as a High-Rise Life Safety Director and Fire Pump Operator.
Peter Conte, National Director of Laboratory and Life Sciences
Transwestern
Peter is a 19-year veteran of commercial real estate, with 15 of those specifically in brokerage. He has experience with leasing, disposition of properties, technical construction, analysis, project/phase management, team building, as well as financial modeling and workflow analysis.
He is the head of Transwestern's Laboratory and Life Sciences Division, leading the company's efforts in life science, laboratory, and biotech office and laboratory disposition/leasing/development both locally and across the country. He has years of professional lab experience with the USDA and public/private cancer research departments before working in brokerage and currently leads the region in total number of transactions completed for the last three years.
Peter is also a LEED® Accredited Professional, helping to merge green building and leasing practices into commercial real estate and a board member for the City of Hope, a non-profit dedicated to novel research in fighting childhood cancer.
Cameron Maharaj, Group/General Manager | JLL
Cameron has seven years of experience in commercial real estate management, serving in many areas of the industry, including commercial, life science, residential, and retail property management.
Prior to joining JLL, Cameron served as a Property Manager at Tishman Speyer, responsible for the day-to-day operations of 160 Spear Street, a 300,000 Sf class A high rise in the SOMA district of San Francisco. Cameron worked with his team at 333 Bush Street in San Francisco to achieve an International TOBY Award, which is the industry’s most prestigious award for a building, recognizing the best in class for operations, tenant service, sustainability, and community impact. Cameron was responsible for managing the tenant experience, preparing the annual budget and monthly reports, training building staff, and providing 5-star customer service.
Cameron currently oversees a Life Science portfolio spread across South San Francisco and San Carlos in the Bay Area Peninsula as well as a Property Management Team at a prestigious office campus in the Bay Area.
