The Real Estate Investment & Finance class is schedule to be held in person in three, 8-hour increments on the following dates: 4/3, 4/10, and 4/17 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Real Estate Investment and Finance teaches you to take charge of real estate investments to maximize a property’s value. Combining the latest industry practices with practical applications, you will learn basic financial concepts related to real estate, including income capitalization, valuation, analysis, taxation, depreciation, and life cycle costing. In addition, you’ll learn to evaluate real estate investments and develop budgets estimating net operating income, including spreadsheet examples that showcase current calculation methods and provide multiple resources to address your investment and finance needs.
New microlessons offer insights into the “Rule of 72,” owner objectives including calculations and analysis, and maximizing the success of real estate contracts through contract type selection, negotiation, terms, and conditions.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Understand physical value and market value
- Determine a property’s economic value
- Finance investments and increase value
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of current tax laws, including capital gains and depreciation
INSTRUCTOR:
Danielle Peterson | Lincoln Property Company
Danielle is an experienced Managing Director with over 10 years of leadership in commercial real estate across the Bay Area, currently responsible for Lincoln’s Northern California Property Management division. Danielle leads regional Portfolio Managers overseeing multiple on-site and off-site teams supporting a diverse 21M SF management portfolio. Her background includes managing institutional high-rise assets in San Francisco, tech-owned real estate and facilities management, and large industrial portfolios.
Prior to Lincoln, Danielle oversaw a 7M SF Bay Area portfolio and served as Senior Property Manager for prestigious assets including the Transamerica Pyramid. She is highly skilled in Yardi, MRI, Facility Management (FM), ARGUS, and Microsoft Excel, and holds a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation through IREM, a California real estate salesperson license, and LEED GA certification. Danielle also serves as a CREATE mentor, supporting the development of the next generation of commercial real estate professionals.
